The Bark Park at Ellicott Island Park involves an environmentally sensitive area in the Tonawanda Creek watershed. The dogs will be sharing the Island at 3 mile point with many native plants, birds and other wildlife. It is important to respect the area and keep it clean. The Friends of Ellicott signed an agreement with Erie County to facilitate the responsible use of the park. Dog Parks present a concern about pet waste. Users of the park must take care to keep the park clean. Bacteria, parasites and viruses contained in pet waste are a health risk to both other pets and people. In addition, nobody wants dirty paws or footwear. Love your Park, and follow the rules.
